A Bit About Me:

Hi! I'm Anna!

I am a costume maker, Theatre Dresser and Costume trainee; and I am born and raised in Chelmsford, Essex.

Although I was at least adequate in home economics, sewing myself little pin-cushion and tote bag; my desire was not quite piqued by the less-than-energetic projects that teachers would set for us.

Arguably too ambitious for my own good, I always wanted to make costumes. Fancy sleeves, great billowing ballgowns and warrior princess outfits!

I first decided to sew for fun when I was 14; my mum took me to the market and I picked out a fabric, and I rummaged through her pattern collection. And lo! The great mysteries of dressmaking began to be revealed to me, and I have been hooked ever since! Throughout my sewing journey I have tried to explore different historical periods; fantasy and everyday wardrobe editions for myself to enjoy.

After completing my A-levels, I went to university and studied 'Costume Production' at Rose Bruford college between 2020-23.

I continued to learning and improving my technique in a professional setting. Up until then, when it came to dressmaking, I had been exclusively self-taught (except being taught by my mum, but that doesn't count, does it?).

Currently I work in the Theatre. I have worked on the West End as a Deputy Dresser on 'Tina: the Tina Turner Musical' and 'The King and I: UK/Ireland tour'. However, I have interest and ambition to work in TV and Film, as well as theatre.
