ANNA BROWN
COSTUME AND WARDROBE
1840's -Agnes Dress
Date Completed
Feburary 2021
Made out of teal-coloured taffeta, the bodice is boned and lined in cotton, with piping details around the bodice. This is made from Angela Clayton's McCall's pattern M7988.
This has got to be one of my favourite things I have ever made! I love the fashion of the 1840's, it's always endured as one of my favourite periods of fashion history.
I have affectionately called this dress 'Agnes' after my favourite 1840's literary heroine; 'Agnes Grey' by Anne Bronte (controversial choice, I know, but I'm not budging on this one- I LOVE the book!)
